Scope and Contents
The Alice C. Peterson Bavin papers date from 1901 to 1924. The collection spans 1/4 cubic feet, filling part of a box.
The Geography and Writing notebooks were from Peterson's early education, sometime after 1901, the copyright date of one of the notebooks.
The Classwork folders contain academic information from Peterson's time at Bethel Academy. There are notes from a biology class, a physics class, and some report cards on index cards.
The Graduation folder contains the class song of 1920, an issue of the Bethel Booster, a commencement program from 1920, and Russell Bavin's valedictorian address for the class of 1924.
The Photographs folder contains pictures of the inside of a decorated hall, possibly at Bethel.

Biographical Note
Alice C. Peterson was born in 1893 in Prentice, Wisconsin. She attended Bethel Academy from 1917 to 1920. She was salutatorian of her graduating class. After Bethel, she attended Macalaster College. She married Russell F. Bavin, who graduated from Bethel Academy in 1924 as valedictorian. Their daughter, Alice Adelle Bavin Hoppe, attended Bethel Junior College from 1946 to 1947. Russell died that year. Alice died in 1972 and is buried in Minneapolis.
