Scope and Contents
The Lidbom papers date between 1966 and 1990 and cover one box.
The documents in the file include correspondence, church bulletins, and autobiographical account by Harold, and information about the Ethiopian Bible.
Two Ethiopian Bibles in the Amharic language are included in the collection, both with wooden covers and handwritten on sheepskin. The larger-sized book was given to Bethel by the Lidboms and likely contains Psalms and Song of Solomon.

Biographical note
Harold Lidbom was a district manager of Galble-Skoma, Inc. in Des Moines, Iowa and Duluth, Minnesota for sixteen years before becoming business manager at Bethel Colleged in 1950. He helped organize God's Invasion Army in 1948, and the next year served as co-director of the organization. Harold and Gertrude served as deacon and deaconess at Bethel Baptist Church in Duluth. In 1966, the Lidboms moved to Ethiopia, where Harold was business manager for the Baptist General Conference Board of Foreign Missions. Harold died in 1982.

Custodial History
The larger sheepskin Bible was given to Bethel by the Lidboms in 1973, which was then given to the History Center by the President's Office. The other Bible is of unknown origins, but is included in the collection because of its similarity to the first Bible.
