Scope and Contents

Materials span a range of topics involving Bethel administration, curriculum, and committees due to Cragg's involvement in many facets of the University. The Faculty series includes memos, policies, meeting minutes, an employee survey, and committee assignments. The Diversity series contains materials involving gender and racial equity initiatives at Bethel. The Technology series involves early computing initiatives at Bethel, particularly in the Academic Computing Center. The Publications file brings together various periodical publications, mostly from Bethel, that Cragg saved in her files. The General Information file includes various topics not well suited to other areas of the collection, including the 1991 Employee Attitude Survey, the institutional organization chart, and Annual Reports. Materials from many different committees and task-forces are included in the Committees and Workshops series, including the Institutional Services team and the College Self-Image Task Group.

Biographical / Historical

Carole M. Cragg graduated from Wheaton College in 1969. She and her husband moved to Montana to the Blackfoot Indian Researvation before returning to Illinois, where she worked as a reference librarian at Trinity College and a library consultant at Lake Forest College. After moving to St. Paul, she became a librarian at Bethel College in 1983, retiring as Associate Director of Bethel University Library.

Original folder order is unknown. Material inside the folders mostly retains the donated order. The documents were primarily kept in the same folders in which they were donated.

Custodial History

These records were donated to the History Center by Cragg in October and December 2020.

Separated Materials

Photographs of the Elder Hostel were removed and put into Bethel University Photographs: People - Elder Hostlers. Folder labeled "Elder Hostel. Yr of Trisha's Sabbatical? Year I was Assistant Dean."
