Child Development Center collection, 1993-2013
Scope and Contents
The Child Development Center collection spans two boxes and dates to 1993 to 2013.
The Binder folders hold documentation taken from a large binder dealing with planning for the opening of the King Family Foundation Child Development Center in 1998.
The Photo Albums hold photographs from the Child Development Center of children and the building.
The VHS tapes show videos of chapels with the children, mostly from Christmas, various events, and play and learning examples.

This collection is open for researcher use.
Historical Note
The Child Development Center on Bethel's campus was opened in 1983 in the Seminary Village complex. The Toddler clssroom was added in 1990, and the Infant classroom was added in 2005. A branch was opened in Frogtown St. Paul in 1998, called the King Family Foundation Child Development Center. The campus center was closed in 2020, while the downtown branch closed a few years prior.

This collection is arranged with the previously donated material organized before the 2024 Acquisition series. The Binder folders retain the original order of the binder.
Custodial History
It is unclear when the original collection was donated to the History Center. The 2024 Acquisition series was left at the archives door on January 2, 2024 by Kendall Engelke Davis from Bethel Residence Life.
Separated Materials
A few VHS tapes were deaccessioned, being instructional videos on caring for children, but not filmed at Bethel. These include "Keys to Quality Infant and Toddler Care" and "Disciplining Kids" from Mangna Systems, Inc.
