Bethel ethnographic research collection, 1991-1993
Scope and Contents
Most material falls between the years 1991 and 1993. The collection spans twenty folders dealing with the research done on Bethel ethnography, particularly amongst students. The collection includes planning documentation, correspondence, original research, the interview question templates, and the reports created from the team's research.

Conditions Governing Access
This collection is open for researcher use. Harley Schreck, donor, went through the collection and removed names that violated confidentiality before donating the material to the History Center.
Historical Note
Harley Schreck, professor of Anthropology, and Judy Moseman, Vice President of Student Life, led the ethnographic research initiative at Bethel in the early 1990s. Research topics included housing, student culture, college life, safety, Bethel's Lifestyle Statement, and Christianity. Information was gathered from interviews and questionnaires.

The collection reflects the donated order from Harley Schreck. Most papers were kept in the same folders in which they were donated, and those without donated folders were added to folders in the order they were clipped together.

Researcher and creator of ethnographic records Harley Schreck, Professor of Anthropology, donated this collection to the History Center on November 11, 2022.
