The Blomkest Baptist Church folder contains a history of Ernest and Myrtle Nelson's ministry in Blomkest, Minnesota, from 1927 to 1931.

The King Charles I death warrant folder contains a letter to the Nelsons from M.E. Masters of Birmingham, England in 1949. The letter details sending the 1750 copy of the King Charles I death warrent from 1948. It also holds two letters from Cardiff, Wales from 1950.

Biographical Note

Ernest August Gunnar Nelson was born in LinderĂ¥s parish in Sweden in 1898. He immigrated to the United States in 1916. In 1925, he graduated from Bethel Academy, then in 1927, from Bethel Theological Seminary. He served as pastor at churches in South Dakota and Minnesota, such as Blomkest, Karlstad, South Isanti, Barnum, Lengby, and Cambridge. He married Myrtle Nordstrom in 1926, with whom he had three children. During World War II, he served as a chaplain in England and France. He died in Minnesota in 1993.

Custodial History

Much of the biographical materials came from the Baptist General Conference. The Blomkest Baptist Church folder was created by the church. The death warrant was collected by the father of M.E. Masters of Birmingham, then sent to Ernest Nelson in 1949.
