Historical Note
Swedish Baptist churches began meeting in 1856 in Rock Island, Illinois. After some less formalized meetings, the Swedish Baptist General Conference of America first began holding regular general conferences in 1879. These annual meetings took place until 2004, when the Conference switched to biennial meetings.
