Scope and Contents
The contents of this collection include events and activities involving Bethel public relations and marketing between the years 1987 and 2009.
The Jay Johnson folders involve Bethel's response to the Jay Johnson murders in 1991. These include news articles on the case, media statements prepared for the subject, Bethel's position on homosexuality, and memoranda. Jay Johnson attended Bethel from 1986 to 1991 and did not receive a degree.
The Kern Family Foundation provided a grant to Bethel University invloving the Pre-Seminary Initiative of the Pastoral Ministry Program. The folder includes the grant application, committee meeting minutes, and correspondence.
The Transformin Church Initiative folder holds the schedules for the event over three years, as well as the slides from some of the presentations held.
The Student Discipleship Conference folder holds the event's agenda and notes notebook, as well as the conference's evaluation results.
The Oasis for Youth Pastors Refresh Restore Renew folder holds the booklets for the event from the years 2007 to 2009. The event was sponsored by the Office of Church Ministries at Bethel and held at the Radisson Hotel in Plymoth, Minnesota. The Oasis binder holds the team meeting minutes, schedules, evaluations, correspondence, financial information, and publicity.
The 125th Anniversary Planning Committee folder mostly holds meeting minutes from the committee's existence in 1996.
